SAP ropes in Intel to launch new software for professional service
05 March 2009
SAP AG and Intel has introduced the SAP Business One applications for professional service firms, as part of the development of SAP system for small businesses based on the Intel Xeon Processor.
The first bundle has been introduced for professional services firms through Intel's OEM Wortmann AG and SAP software solution partner Maringo Computers GmbH, the two companies said in a statement.
SAP and Intel said they plan to encourage original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and solution providers to create industry-specific bundles to leverage the results of this collaboration.
Intel and SAP said the two companies would support additional OEMs and solution providers to provide further offerings in more geographies and targeting different industries. The announcement was made at CeBIT 2009, the world's leading information technology show, being held March 3-8 in Hannover, Germany.
''With this expansion, the SAP Business One industry solutions program provides optimised hardware options that can be leveraged by SAP's channel partners to create packaged bundles of pre-integrated and pre-tested software, which include industry-specific partner add-on solutions, the core SAP Business One application and additional third party applications as required,'' the release said.
With more than 22,600 small businesses using SAP Business One to help manage their business, SAP Business One is a robust platform that can be flexibly tailored to meet the fast-changing and industry-specific needs of small businesses.
