Satyam to launch global delivery campus in China

Mumbai: Satyam Computer Services Ltd has signed an agreement with Nanjing New & High Technology Development Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nanjing Hitech Zone, for setting up a global delivery campus (GDC). With 2,500 seats, it will be the Satyam''s largest development facility outside India.
Satyam CEO B Rama Raju and Shao Qiang, standing director of the Chinese company, signed the agreement.
The Nanjing facility will also be Satyam''s largest campus in terms of space, and will include areas devoted to development and training as well as a convention center.
The state-of-the-art facility will be located in the Nanjing Software Park, and feature a broadband data communication system, and will have amenities like restaurant, shopping mall, recreation and entertainment centers and residential apartments.
"We are very pleased to be able to establish this facility in Nanjing, which will play an important role in our global delivery model," said B Rama Raju, co-founder and CEO of Satyam. "Nanjing features large numbers of exceptionally bright technologists, and we look forward to bringing them into the Satyam fold. We are confident that our customers will benefit significantly from the work produced in this facility in the near future," he added.
Satyam Computer Services has been one of earliest entrants in the Chinese market, having set up its first development centre in Shanghai in 2002 with just 10 associates. Satyam China today has grown exponentially with presence in Shanghai, Beijing, Dalian and Guangzhou.
