The first SeaCare centre, established in Chennai in September 2002, will now be extended to 31 additional cities in three phases from 21 July to 15 September to better meet the needs of the company''s growing customer base.
The multi-location SeaCare centres will offer better access and after-sales support to Seagate customers throughout. All Seagate hard-drives purchased through Seagate''s authorised distributors will be supported as per the warranty specification of the product line.
The SeaCare centres honour the following standard warranties for Seagate disc-drives: three years for Barracuda ATA Plus drives, one year for the entry level Barracuda ATA drives and five years for the Cheetah family of SCSI drives.
SeaCare centre services provide increased support to all Seagate distributors, OEMs, Seagate import partners, Seagate storage partners, resellers and end-users in the country.
Says Seagate Technology India country manager Sharad Srivastava: "Through this multi-location expansion, we hope to accomplish our aim of offering better access to our large customer base, further strengthening our after-sales support system and increasing our service level in India."
Seagate is the worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of hard disc-drives for enterprise, PC and consumer electronics applications.
