Delhi: The
Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA)
will set up an online audit wing by June 2002 end, with
one of its members heading it and having chartered accountants
as its members.
We will set up an
audit wing by the month-end to inspect the investments of
insurance companies. We will also start next month the inspection
of claim registers of general insurers for assessing their status
in terms of provisioning for future claims, says IRDA chairman
N Rangachary.
Rangachary says IRDAs
headquarters will be shifted to Hyderabad
from New Delhi by this month-end, and the process for the same
will begin next week.
