Panacea opens new Baddi facility and office in Mumbai

Panacea Biotec has opened a formulations facility for 'soft gelatin capsules' at its Baddi complex, in Solan , Himachal Pradesh. The new facility has an annual capacity of around 150 million capsules on single shift basis.
This is the second expansion of the company in this year.
Earlier, in April this year, the company had started production of oral dosage forms with an annual capacity of 900 million tablets: 12 million ointment tubes, 120 million hard gelatin capsules and 12 million bottles of oral liquids at Baddi.
Panacea Biotec is a leading research-based pharmaceutical company, with an annual turnover of nearly Rs350 crore. The company manufactures and markets vaccines, bio-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical (prescription and OTC) products of international quality. Panacea Biotec plants are accredited by international agencies and they follow current good manufacturing practices, as per WHO guidelines.
"This world class facility complies with US FDA and UK MHRA requirements. This new dosage form of soft gelatin capsules is a new addition to the Baddi facility. It will be used to manufacture products, viz, Panimum Bioral (Cyclosporine) etc, intended for the developed markets and Latin America, in addition to the domestic market", Rajesh Jain, joint managing director of the company, said.
Panacea also announced the opening of a new marketing office at Saki Naka (Andheri), in Mumbai. "The new marketing office would look after domestic as well as international markets", said Mr. Jain.
