06 Feb 01.10 PM: Sensex above 9950; ONGC and Reliance rally

Indices have built on the strong opening today and the Sensex has surged more than 2 per cent on across the board buying. Most frontline stocks are trading with strong gains.

The Sensex is trading higher by 227 points at 9970 at 11.10 AM.

The Nifty is trading at 2998, higher by 57 points. The index saw high of 3002 earlier in the day.

The big boys ONGC and Reliance Industries have rallied and are trading with gains of 2.5 per cent each. Reliance opened weak on reports of a fresh dispute between the Ambani brothers, before picking up steam.

ICICI Bank is holding on to its early gains and is still trading with gains of nearly 6 per cent at Rs605 on the NSE. The stock saw a high of Rs609 earlier in the day.
