Birla-Sun Life JVs announce chief executives
Mumbai: The Birla-Sun Life joint ventures
announced on 15 July will have three new chief executives. Anand Zaveri will head Birla
Sun Life broking, Sanjeev Roy will be the chief operating officer of Birla Sun Life
Distribution and Madhavan Menon is the chief operating officer of Birla Sun Life Asset
Management Company.
Birla Sun Life Asset Management
Company will have as its chief executive Jeremy Beswick, seconded from Sun Life's
London-based MFS International.
S.K. Mitra, head of the Birla financial businesses, and
Sun Life vice president Vijay Singh will have overall responsibility for all the ventures.
Kumar Mangalam Birla will be chairman and Donald Stewart,
chief executive officer of Sun Life Assurance will be director on the board of the
three joint ventures.

Sundararajan is
chairman of Petronet
New Delhi: U. Sundararajan, chairman and
managing director of Bharat Petroleum Corporation, is the new chairman of pipeline holding
company Petronet India.
Mr Sundararajan succeeds M.A. Pathan, chairman, Indian Oil
Corporation. M.L. Zutshi, chairman of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, was in the race for
the position. The three public sector oil company chiefs are supposed to hold the position
by rotation.

Warner Bros CEOs to quit
New York: Bob Daley and Terry Semel,
chairmen and co-chief executive officers of Warner Brothers will leave the media group at
the end of 1999.
The Hollywood Reporter, an entertainment trade
paper, reported that the two had made the announcement at a board meeting of the company
recently. They have not decided on their future, but the paper said they would remain
together in any new ventures.
