Houten, new Philips director
Mumbai: Philips India has appointed Frans
van Houten as an additional director of the company with effect from 22 July. He is
managing director, Philips Electronics Asia Pacific, covering Asia Pacific, Middle East
and Africa.
S. Dasgupta, director and senior vice
president (Lighting) will take up a new assignment with Philips Electronics outside India
from 16 August. He will continue on the board as a non-executive member.

Mike Moore is WTO director
general
Geneva: Former New Zealand prime
minister Mike Moore has been formally appointed new head of the World Trade Organisation
for a three-year period staring 1 September.
The appointment is under the compromise formula, which
will see Thai deputy prime minister Supachai Panitchpakdi following Moore as director
general from 2002 to 2005.
Moore has been a labour unionist in the past.

Magazine to head South
Asia arm of real estate firm
Mumbai: CB Richard Ellis, the
international real estate services firm, has appointed Anshuman Magazine as managing
director for South Asia. Mr Magazine was head of the Richard Ellis's corporate real estate
division and western regional operations.
The previous incumbent, Dinesh Chandhok, has moved to
Singapore as head of the company's corporate advisory group for Asia-Pacific region.
