Ishaat Hussain, Kulkarni on Voltas board
Mumbai: Ishaat Hussain, executive director
of Tata Sons, has been appointed non-executive vice-chairman of Voltas, a Tata group
company. Former chief executive of Larsen & Toubro, S.D. Kulkarni is also joining the
Voltas board. Both the appointments have taken effect
from the third week of July 1999.Voltas has two
other non-executive directors on the board, Nasser Munjee, deputy managing director of
Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation, and N.J. Jhaveri, former managing director
of ICICI Securities.

SBI appoints CGMs
Mumbai: The State Bank of India promoted 13
of its general managers to the rank of chief general managers. Eight of them -- M.M.Mehta,
K.A. Kameshwara Rao, R.C. Agrawal, S.N. Sahai, V. Krishnan, M.A. Krishnan, S.Gururajan,
A.G. Kalmankar -- have been promoted with immediate effect.
The remaining five -- M.P. Gupta, K.K. Chattopadhyay, B.L.
Patwardhan, Ashok Kini and A.K. Das -- will be given positions as and when vacancies are
created before 31 March 2000.
