Monsanto scientist quits
Bangalore: V.N. Balaji, director of the
bio-informatics project at the Monsanto-Indian Institute of Science R&D Centre here,
has quit. This has been described as a major setback for the life sciences multinational's
research project in India.
The company said Mr
Balaji has decided to resign of his own accord in order to pursue his personal plans.
However, sources in the know said Mr Balaji had differences of opinion with the
management.
Mr Balaji is an established scientist in bio-informatics
and was instrumental in setting up Monsanto's only R&D centre in India.
