MD gets jail
New Delhi: Hoffland Finance managing director
Brij Bhushan Sharma, who has been charged with cheating
investors of Rs six crore, has been awarded a cumulative
sentence of 24 years imprisonment in separate cases by the
Company Law Board.
The CLB said in its order of 30 August that
Mr Sharma had failed to pay the investors within the time
prescribed "without any reasonable cause" and
therefore was being sentenced to imprisonment for one
year in each of the case.
Mr Sharma is under judicial
custody for the last one year.

for Narayana Murthy
New Delhi: Infosys Technologies chairman
N.R. Narayana Murthy has been presented with the Electronics
Man of the Year award by the Electronic Component Industry
Association, or Elcina, for his outstanding contribution
in elevating the Indian electronics industry in the global
circuit.
Tata Infotech bagged the
association's award for exports. Usha India won the second
price in this category.

Onkar
Gupta is director Lurgi India
Mumbai: Onkar Gupta has joined the board
of directors of Lurgi India Company, a 100 per cent subsidiary
of Lurgi of Germany as director (operations). Mr Gupta
will be responsible for the execution of various projects
of Lurgi India.
