Radhakrishnan is MD of Bharat Shell
Mumbai: S. Radhakrishnan has taken over as managing director of Bharat Shell, a joint venture between Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Shell Overseas. The present managing director and country chairman of the Shell group of companies in India, Vikram Singh Mehta, has been elected chairman of the board in place of Adrian Loader.

Lynn Elsenhans, president, Oil Products East, Shell International, has also been inducted as a director of Bharat Shell.

Kothari to forego salary
Chennai: B.H. Kothari, chairman and managing director of Kothari Sugars and Chemicals, has announced that he will not draw a salary from his ailing flagship company. Mr Kothari made his announcement at the 38th annual general meeting of the company.

Shareholders of the company were critical of the performance of the company, with its accumulated losses touching Rs 103 crore in 1998-99. Some of them had even opposed the reappointment of Mr Kothari as chairman and managing director.

Oberoi is Seagram CEO
New Delhi: Param Oberoi is the new chief executive of the Indian operations of Seagram, the global alcoholid beverages major.

Mr Oberoi replaces Ashok Swarup as the president of Seagram Manufacturing. Mr Swarup, who was appointed president in January 1999, has been re-designated as a director of Seagram, Asia Pacific.
