Sabeer Bhatia turns angel investor
for Indian IT companies
New Delhi: Mr. Sabeer Bhatia, the
infotech entrepreneur, who created Hotmail has decided to turn into a angel investor. Mr.
Bhatia will now invest in Indian Internet, information technology and communications
companies in his personal capacity.
The first such angel funding from
Mr.Bhatia is expected by the fist quarter of 2001 most likely in a communications
technology company. Details of the proposed venture are still undisclosed. Mr. Bhatia
would invest either as a venture capitalist and/or an angel investor.
Mr. Bhatia, who has plans to set up a
voice mail services company in India, has recently joined the board directors of an Indian
bank.
