Mr. F.K.Kavarna to be chairman of Tata AIG Life Insurance
Mumbai: Mr. F.K. Kavarana, director, Tata Sons, has officially been appointed as the chairman of both Tata AIG Life Insurance Company Ltd. and Tata AIG General Insurance Company Ltd. Following his appointment at Tata AIG, Mr. Kavarana will be relinquishing his position as the executive director of Tata Engineering with effect from March 31, 2001.

Mr. Anand Rathi, BSE president resigns
Mumbai: Mr. Anand Rathi, president of the Bombay Stock Exchange president has resigned following allegations of his involvement with a bear cartel and abnormal movement in share prices. Mr. Rathi’s resignation comes three weeks ahead of completion of his two-year term as president of BSE.

Mr. Rathi is the second BSE president to leave the exchange before completion of his two-year term. Sebi had earlier removed Mr. Jasubhai Chhotalal Parekh, his predecessor, two years ago because of his involvement in manipulating share prices of BPL, Videocon and Sterlite.
