Shyamal Gupta on Haldia board
Kolkata:
SHYAMAL Gupta, director of Tata Sons and former CEO of Tata International, has joined the board of Haldia Petrochemicals as a Tata Group nominee.

Gupta, a non-executive director, replaces Dr Subrata Ganguly, former chairman of ACC, who retired from the Tata Group. Ganguly is now the chairman of West Bengal Electronic Industry Development Corporation (Webel), the state nodal agency for IT and electronics development.

Mukesh Ambani, Ernst & Young award nominee
Mumbai:
Mukesh Ambani, vice president, Reliance Petroleum, and winner of the ‘Entrepreneur Of The Year’ (EOY) award for 2000 has been selected by Ernst & Yong India to represent India at the first ‘Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year’ (WEOY) award programme, to be held in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in May 2001.

Participants at the WEOY awards programme will include national winners of the Entrepreneur of the Year awards from 19 countries, selected from 6,500 EOY nominations received in 2000. The other nominations are from various world leaders like Juniper Networks, WestJet Airlines, Melexis and Master Currency among others.

The World Entrepreneur of the Year Programme, which is to be made an annual feature, will give visibility to the contribution made by entrepreneurs to the global economy.
