Sony TV reorganises top management
New Delhi
: In a bid to strengthen its new media, corporate strategy and business development areas, Sony Entertainment Television made some top-level restructuring.

Rajat Jain, who was with Zee group’s satellite telephony project, has been appointed as executive vice-president (corporate development and new media). Pawan Sharma takes over as the general counsel of the channel, with Shantonu Aditya, former chief executive of Hydro Gas India, taking over as senior vice-president (franchise channels and distribution).

While Mr. Jain will focus on identifying and implementing new business plans and drive the new media initiative of the group, he will also assist in developing corporate human resources strategy, in keeping with the company's expanding business needs.

Mr. Aditya will be responsible for distribution as well as the franchise channels AXN and CNBC.

Mirc Electronics inducts outsiders on board
Mumbai:
The Mirchandani-family promoted, Mirc Electronics, have decided to induct three outside directors on to its board.

The three persons are, Marico Industries chairman Harsh Mariwala, executive director of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Vimal Bhandari and director of Ambit Finance Gautam Doshi.

According to Mr. Gulu Mirchandani, chairman and managing director, the aim is to provide the board with diverse skills and valuable insights for the effective functioning of the company.

Simultaneously, Mr. Kanu Doshi, an existing board member, has decided to step down.

According to Mr. Mirchandani, a management consultant may also be inducted in thenear future.

It is expected that Mr. Mariwala will contribute to the human resource management, Mr. Bhandari will give an entrepreneurial direction to the firm and Mr. Doshi will help in tax-related issues.

The company expects the induction of these new members to impart a greater dynamism and improve corporate governance of the firm. The new directors will hold the office till Mirc's next annual general meeting.
