Amitabh Kumar of VSNL chargesheeted
New Delhi— The Department of Telecommunications on Friday served a chargesheet on Amitabh Kumar, director (operations) of Videsh Sanchar Nigam), for alleged financial and administrative irregularities.
The chargesheet was served on the recommendations of the central vigilance committee, which had advised ``major penalty’’ proceedings against him.
Kumar, however, says that he has become a pawn in the larger game in VSNL, which, among other things, is aimed at scuttling VSNL’s disinvestments and says he hasn’t done ``anything wrong’’ in his entire career.
Blaming vested interests for his problems he said the chargesheet is the result of internal rivalry.
