Damodaran at UTI helm
Mumbai: M Damodaran has taken charge as chairman
of the Unit Trust of India.
Mr Damodaran belongs to the IAS cadre.
Prior to this assignment, he was officer on special duty with the Reserve Bank of India
dealing primarily in charge of restructuring of three identified weak public sector banks.
Earlier, he was joint secretary (banking division), ministry of finance for five years.
Mr Damodaran will be at the helm of UTI for one year till July 2002. UTIs previous
chairman PS Subaramanyam held the post for about three years.
