New chief for packaged tea at Duncan
Kolkata Pinaki Pan, former general manager (eastern) of Glaxo Smithkline will soon be joining Duncans Industries as the new packaged tea head.
Pan brings with him years of experience in marketing Smithline Beecham products, mainly Horlicks.
He is reported to have worked in markets like Cambodia and Vietnam.
At Duncans, he will be a senior vice president and assume charge of the packet tea division.
Its almost a year now since the packet tea division had remained headless. The operations, since the exit of Amit Shukla, were looked by Mr Gauri Prasad Goenka, chairman of the DIL group and a senior executive from his secretariat.

ABN Amro director moves to PwC
New Delhi-- Mark Silgardo, ABN Amro managing director (corporate finance), is joining PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as executive director (corporate finance).

At PwC, Silgardo will be responsible for its investment banking activities including mergers & acquisitions and equity placement in the country.

He will also be heading the Mumbai office of PwC's financial advisory services practice, which includes project finance and privatisation, corporate value consulting and business restructuring and recovery services.

At the moment, the corporate finance team of PwC is working under Ashwani Puri, a partner in the consultancy firm who is the PwC India corporate finance head.

Silgardo, a holder of an MBA in marketing from IIM Ahmedabad and MBA in finance from University of Rochester, New York, is joining PwC as an executive director and not as a partner.

Zydus consolidates presence on German Remedies board
AhmedabadZydus Cadila Healthcare has re-constituted the board of German Remedies Ltd, where it acquired a 27.72 per cent stake, earlier.
Zydus Cadila chairman Ramanbhai B Patel has been appointed chairman of GRL and other directors are: H K Bilpodiwala (former GRL chairman), Pankaj R Patel (Zydus MD), Ganesh Nayak (Zydus executive director), Mukesh Patel (a director in Cadila Healthcare), K Leimkuehler, Prof. C Ruger and H Dhanrajgir.
While Bilpodiwala, Leimkuehler, Ruger and Dhanrajgir have been retained in the GRL board of directors, those dropped are M G Sheth, H N Shethna, T H Anik, S C Asha and S R Balasekar.
