Kanoria
quits as Ficci vice-president
New Delhi: R
V Kanoria, vice-president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of
Commerce (Ficci), has quit his post. Kanoria quit reportedly in
protest after A C Muthiah, chairman of the Chennai-based Spic group,
who had earlier stepped down from the senior vice-presidentship of
Ficci, let it be known to senior members that he wanted to return to
his post.
Muthiah had stepped down
after he became the chairman of the Board of Cricket Control of India
(BCCI).
Kanoria had been taken into
confidence on the fact that Muthiah would be invited to come back as
the Ficci top man if he so desired. At that time, Kanoria said he had
no objections.
