Anurag Goel is the new chief Pawan

India's largest helicopter operator, Pawan Hans, is getting a new
chief executive. The new civil aviation minister, Shahnawaz Hussein ,
has decided to appoint Anurag Goel, a joint secretary in the civil
aviation ministry, as chairman-cum-managing director of the public
sector company.
An Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer of the 1972 batch, Goel replaces
Maj. Gen. A Natarajan who is returning to the Indian army, his parent
organisation.
Civil aviation ministry sources said Natarajan had informed Hussein
that he was keen to return to the army since his promotion was due.
Goel, who is in charge of Airport Authority of India in his capacity
as joint secretary in the ministry, will hold additional charge till
further notice, they added.
With a fleet of 30 helicopters, Pawan Hans is the largest helicopter
operator in the country. Its fleet comprises of 20 Dauphin SA365,
three Bell 206, tow Bell 407, two Robinson R44 and three Russian-made
MI 172 helicopters. The annual revenues of the company are in the
range of Rs.170 crore.
