Lodha
next Ficci president
New Delhi:
Rajendra S Lodha, a partner in the Kolkata-based chartered accountants
firm Lodha & Co, is to take over from Chirayu Amin as the
president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (Ficci) at the end of the year at the conclusion of the
chamber's 74th annual session.
Lodha is at present the
senior vice-president of Ficci. In the past, he was the president of
Kolkata-based Indian Chamber of Commerce.
A C Muthiah, chairman of Spic and also the chairman of Board of
Control for Cricket in India, is expected to become senior
vice-president.
Lodha was on the central board and executive committee of State Bank
of India. He also holds the post of vice-president of the Indian
Council of Arbitration.
He was the advisor to many prestigious global depository receipt and
euro issues for several Indian corporates.
He was also the supervised the audit of Reserve Bank of India, Life
Insurance Corporation of India and Steel Authority of India. He was a
member of the working group set up by the government to recast the
Companies Act.
Lodha is also a member of the
Securities and Exchange Board of India committees on 'takeover code
review' and 'disclosure in offer documents'.
