Fortune lists Nooyi
among US top ten businesswomen
New York:
Chennai-born Indra Nooyi, president and CFO of PepsiCo, has been
ranked the 10th most powerful businesswoman in the United States by Fortune
magazine.
She was promoted president of PepsiCo last year. She is chief
executive Steve Reinemunds partner in running the $25-billion soft
drink giant. A mother of two children aged 8 and 17, Nooyi has been
described by the Fortune magazine as a pragmatic and careful leader.
Prior to being appointed president at PepsiCo, Nooyi had been senior
vice-president and CFO for PepsiCo and her responsibilities included
corporate strategy, treasury, tax, control, audit, global mergers and
acquisitions, information technology and purchasing.
She holds a bachelor of science degree from Madras University, a
masters in business administration from the Indian Institute of
Management, Kolkata, and a masters in public and private management
from Yale University.

Nicholas
Piramal CFO quits
Mumbai: Mahesh S Gupta,
chief financial officer of Nicholas Piramal India, has put in his
papers, due to "personal reasons."
Prior to joining Nicholas Piramal,
Gupta was general manager (corporate planning) of Morarjee Goculdas
Spinning, another Piramal company. He joined the group flagship in
1993.

Nagarajan
to take over as IDBI's Dy MD
Mumbai: IDBIs TM
Nagarajan will take over as deputy managing director (DMD) of the
institution after S K Kapur retires on October 31. Nagarajan, the
senior-most executive director has close to a year to go before he
retires.
