Major reshuffle in
finance ministry team
New
Delhi: The
government has appointed expenditure secretary CM Vasudev as
secretary of the department of economic affairs. DEA secretary
Ajit Kumar, who is also finance secretary, has been posted as
secretary, Planning Commission. Plan panel secretary NC Saxena is
presently on leave. Director general of the National Institute of
Rural Development CS Rao moves into North Block as expenditure
secretary. Mr S Narayan continues as revenue secretary.
Mr Vasudev is an Indian
Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1966 batch from the UP
cadre. Mr Kumar is an IAS officer of the 1964 batch (Punjab
cadre), Mr Narayan is of the 1965 batch (Tamil Nadu) and Mr Rao of
the 1967 batch (Andhra Pradesh).
