Railways launch
freight info system
New Delhi: The
Railways have launched the indigenously developed computerised
freight operations information system for efficient management of
their goods traffic, according to railway minister Nitish Kumar.
The system designed and developed by the Centre for Railway
Information System (CRIS), was being maintained by CRIS and
Computer Maintenance Corporation (CMC). The Rake Management System
already installed on 233 reporting locations across the country
would enable the freight customers to have an instant access to
the information regarding the current status of their consignments
in transit.

Anti-dumping
case against EU, Taiwan
New Delhi: Government has initiated anti- dumping
investigations against imports of Sodium Nitrite from European
Union and Taiwan.
Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has
initiated the investigation on basis of a petition filed by Deepak
Nitrite Ltd, Punjab Chemicals and Pharamceuticals, National
Fertilizers Ltd and Rashtriya Chemicals and Ferilizers Ltd.
In its notification, the DGAD said there was sufficient prima
facie evidence that the normal value of the product under
consideration was significantly higher than the price at which it
was exported to India.
Sodium Nitrite, is an oxidizing and reducing agent. It is a white
crystalline powder used mostly in pharmaceutical industries, dye
industries, textiles and meat processing.
