US to curb steel
exports from India
Washington:
The US international trade commission has voted to continue
dumping and subsidy investigations into cold-rolled carbon steel
flat products from 20 countries, including those from India.
Under investigation for dumping are cold-rolled steel products
from India, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, France,
Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, South
Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Venezuela.

Ready-made
garment exports rise
New Delhi: Ready-made
garment export has registered a growth of 12 per cent in quantity
and 11 per cent in value terms in October.
According to the apparel export promotion council, exports of
ready-made garment to 'restricted' countries during October have
amounted to 71.2 million pieces, an increase of 11.60 per cent
compared to 63.8 million pieces in the same period last year.
Similarly, in terms of value, exports during October were pegged
at $253.9 million, which was higher by 10.97 per cent as against
$228.8 million a year ago.
