Second India-EU summit
in Delhi

Delhi: A delegation of European businessmen is here to
participate in the second India -EU summit. The delegation is led
by European Commission president Romano Prodi.
EU is India's largest
trading partner, but India ranks 18th amongst the EU's trading
partners accounting for just 1.3 per cent of total EU imports.
The two-day summit will explore cooperation in the areas of
agriculture, textiles, telecommunication and information
technology.

China interested in Indian Software
Mumbai:
A high-profile China technology trade promotion delegation was in
the city on Wednesday to interact with leading software giants.
The delegation met more than 40 Indian software majors, said
Chinese commercial counsel Qingmao Zhau. These included majors
like Tata Consultancy Services and I-Flex.
TCS is keen on setting up operations in China. It is looking at
maintaining lead position by moving up the value chain to higher
technological tools and then sub-contracting programming work to
China, according to TCS vice-president (marketing), Jayant
Pendharkar.
TCS later plans to use its base in China to grab plum domestic IT
projects.
