Marc Duale appointed Reuters Asia head
Singapore: Reuters Group Plc has appointed Marc Duale as managing director of Reuters Asia effective January 2002. Based in Singapore, Duale will be responsible for business throughout Asia. He will report to chief operating officer Philip Green.

Duale, 49, was with DHL Worldwide Express as chief operating officer for the Asia Pacific and Middle East region. Before joining DHL in Brussels in 1996, he worked for American Express in New York and Paris for seven years and was a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Chicago.

L&T makes top-level changes
Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro has elevated three of its top executives. YM Deosthalee, who was the senior vice-president (finance), has been elevated to the position of chief financial officer (CFO), while K Venkataramanan, who was the senior vice-president in charge of the heavy engineering and design division, has been redesignated as president (operations). JP Nayak, who was a wholetime director and senior vice-president in charge of L&Ts diversified businesses, has taken over as the head of the cement business.

Nayak has been redesignated president (operations) and will be in charge of L&Ts most profitable division.
