Maruti gets ISO certification
New Delhi: Maruti Udyog has been awarded the lately revised ISO certification (ISI 9001:2000).

The award has been given as per the recommendation of noted global auditors A V Belgium which had conducted a four day audit of Maruti systems and procedures recently.

The A V Belgium in its audit report has said Maruti may consider itself as a benchmark in the worldwide automotive industry.

The ISO standard has recently been revamped to introduce the more stringent ISO 9001:2000. Companies seeking this certification are now adjudged on the parameters of customer focus, the quality of their leadership, their level of people training and competence.

LG to offer 3-G TV games
New Delhi: LG Electronics will launch a television with third-generation or virtual reality games. The company will introduce an entire range of televisions with in-built the third-generation games. These games will be incorporated in the high and medium range colour televisions.

These televisions will cost Rs 1,500-2,000 extra.
The company is also planning to introduce a soccer-shaped 14" television to coincide with the World Cup.

The company is hoping to sell 6.5 lakh TVs this year compared to 4.5 lakh last year. Televisions are likely to contribute nearly one-third to the companys turnover.

Jet lanches new routes
New Delhi: Jet Airways on Sunday launched a day return facility between Delhi-Hyderabad and Delhi-Ahmedabad with a new 122-seater boeing 737-700 aircraft.

The airline now has a fleet of 30 Boeing 737-400/700/800 and eight ATR 72-500 Turbo-Prop aircraft.

The daily early morning flight (Delhi-Hyderabad-Delhi) would be in addition to the existing daily evening flight on this sector.

Also, a daily evening flight would be launched on the Delhi-Ahmedabad route except Saturdays, in addition to the existing morning flight.

Bhubaneshwar would also be linked to Delhi by a daily flight, except Saturdays.

Pizza Huts Christmas bonanza

The company had held Pooch Weekend Blast, a similar program, for kids at Pizza Hut in June.

Jalan sells Bell stake
Kolkata: Sudhir Jalan has sold off 14.64 per cent of his holding in the Bells Controls to the companys executive director Anoop Hoon and S D Mookerjea.
The 14.64 per cent holding, comprising 16.54 lakh shares of Rs 10 each, was bought by the duo at Rs 4.38 per share, aggregating Rs 72.45 lakh.

Jalan has already quit as managing director, and he has stepped down from the board of directors too. After acquiring 14.64 per cent of Bells from Jalan, the duo has further bought about 30,000 shares from the open market to take their total holding up to 14.91 per cent.

Pune Merc dealership changes hands
Pune: Concorde Motors is selling its Mercedes Benz car dealership in Pune to Millenium Motors for an undisclosed amount.

Millenium Motors is the dealer for Mitsubishi Motors Lancer.

A statement released here by DaimlerChrysler India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler, said the move follows the "strategic review" of its business by Concorde Motors.

The Millenium Motors dealership, which will retail the luxury car, will carry the Mercedes name along with the dealers name.

Garment portal ties up with UK co
Chennai: The Mumbai-based Garmentjunction.com, a business-to-business (B2B) portal on the garment/apparel/textiles industry, has entered into a strategic alliance with the UK-based Red Apple Design Plc to offer the portal's services in the international market.

Garmentjunction.com CEO Sushil Tibrewal, told newspersons here that the immediate objective of the tie-up was to tap the international buyers of Indian garments/apparels/textiles. The other objective is to increase the subscriber base for the portal in over 40 countries globally where the UK firm is present.

The portal provides a single window resource to international customers, and integrates raw material sourcing and production activities.
