UB to
invest Rs 400cr in brand acquisitions
New Delhi:
UB group plans to invest a large chunk of the Rs 400 crore it
expects to raise from sale of 26 per cent stake in BrewCo in
acquisition of brands and takeover of companies.
Kotak Mahindra and
Goldman Sachs have valued the company at Rs 1,450 crore.
Four international liquor
majors Heineken, Carlsberg, Interbrew and South African Breweries
(SAB) had shown interest in acquiring 26 per cent equity in UBs
brewery division. Subsequently, Heineken pulled out of the race.

Britannia
reports Rs 80-cr sales of Tiger brand
Mumbai:
Britannia Industries Ltd has garnered sales of about Rs 80 crore
on volumes of around 20 crore packs for the biscuit brand Tiger.
The company had tied up with Aamir Khan productions for brand
promotion.
The company announced the
names of 13 winners of the Lagaan contest who would be
participating in the Lagaan match in Mumbai on 25 December.

Jaud
SA to acquire stake in Voltas subsidiary
New Delhi:
Jaud SA of France has firmed up plans to pick up equity in Perfect
Moulds, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Group company Voltas
Limited.
Jaud SA will acquire
shares in Perfect Moulds for a total consideration of Rs 2.10
crore.
Perfect Moulds (PML) has continued to incur losses despite
recording higher sales in 2000-01 at Rs 8.14 crore against Rs 6.63
crore in the previous fiscal.
