Modi
Rubber chairman quits
New Delhi: Modi Rubber chairman T Panduranga Rao has resigned.
He was the nominee of the Unit Trust of India on the the Modi Rubber
board.
There are three
other institutional nominees on the Modi Rubber board apart from Rao.
A few months
ago, the Modi Rubber board had stripped B K Modi of his executive
powers as managing director and vested them on his brother, V K Modi,
vice-chairman & managing director of the company.
The executive
powers of B K Modi were later restored by the board of directors.

resign from Bellary Steels board
Bangalore:
Three members of the reconstituted board of Bellary Steels and Alloys
Ltd, including executive chairman S.K.Gupta have resigned. They were
reportedly dissatisfied with the management's approach to the
implementation of the restructuring plan put in place by the financial
institutions.
The other two
members to resign are T.M. Subramanian and joint managing director
J.P.N. Lal.
The Bellary
Steels board was reconstituted under the FIs-devised plan to
restructure the ailing company.

Amol
Sandil quits Ashok Leyland
Chennai: Leyland's executive director (marketing) Amol Sandil,
has resigned. He had joined Ashok Leyland in July 1995, filling the
vacancy created by the superannuation of V.R. Pappu. Earlier, Sandil
had been with Toyota, Japan.
Sandil was a key
member of the team which drove the company through the turbulent
times.
Sandil is a
graduate in Hindustani classical music and plays sitar and mandolin.
He said he would like to pursue these hobbies for some time.
