Ranbaxy
enters pact with Mikart
New Delhi:
Ranbaxy Laboratories has joined hands with Atlanta-based Mikart
Inc to introduce Midazolam, a drug for central nervous system in
the US. The drug -midazolam -is used for curing anxiety and
nervous system default.
Ranbaxy has got the approval of US Food and Drug Authority (FDA).
In the US, midazolam has a market of over $200 million. Ranbaxy is
confident to notch up a revenue of $12 million in the first year
of sales.

to open outlets in Delhi
New Delhi:
Malaysian fast food chain Marrybrown is planning to open outlets
in the capital. It will also set up outlets in Coimbatore and
Hyderabad.
Marrybrown will also have home-delivery and out-door catering
through its outlets in the capital.

Fert to bid for NFL stake
Mumbai:
Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals has expressed its intent to
bid for 51 per cent equity stake in National Fertilizers.
The CFCL board has recommended to the shareholders for their
approval of an investment not exceeding Rs 900 crore for acquiring
51 per cent stake in NFL and other equity shares that may be
offered for acquisition.

Best
Western acquires Goa resort
Mumbai:
Best Western International has acquired a 185-room resort in Goa,
adding to its existing property in India. Resorte Marinha Dourada
in Goa has joined the global hotel chain. With the addition of the
resort, the companys presence in the country has increased to
23 property.
Globally, Best Western has a network of more than 4,100 hotels in
84 countries.

to buy out partner's 40% stake
Ahmedabad:
Italian infrastructure equipment major Ansaldo Energia is buying
out the 40 per cent stake of its Indian joint venture partner,
Ansaldo Services Private Limited. Ansaldo Services provides
engineering, procurement and construction services to Ansaldo's
worldwide projects.

HFCL
arm acquires 28.5 pc in AB Corp
Mumbai:
HFCL Trade-Invest Ltd, a subsidiary of Himachal Futuristic
Communication Ltd (HFCL), has acquired 28.5 per cent stake in the
AB Corp Ltd (ABCL) for Rs 165 crore.
The shares of the
unlisted ABCL were acquired by HFCL Trade-Invest from the Ketan
Parekh associate company Classic Credit Ltd.
Based on the acquisition
cost of 28.5 per cent stake, the total value of ABCL works out to
Rs 579 crore.

NIPER sign accord
New Delhi:
Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd and the National Institute of
Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) will launch a
collaborative research project on solubility/permeability
enhancement studies.
The study will have its
application in improving the solubility and permeability of a drug
that will help in enhanced safety and efficacy profile of the
drug.
The improved
solubility/permeability is expected to reduce the dosage in
certain cases and thus would also minimise side effects.

Pizza
Hut to set up Taco Bell
New Delhi:
Tricon Restaurants International, the promoter of Pizza Hut in the
country, is looking at opening its Taco Bell chain of Mexican
restaurants in India and other Asian markets.
At present, Tricon Restaurants operates 29 Pizza Hut outlets
across 11 cities and a single KFC restaurant, in Bangalore.
The company, which operates as many as 7,111 Taco Bell outlets
worldwide, has opened a couple of Mexican specialty restaurants in
Singapore and Australia.
