Jaswant meets Sattar at SAARC

Kathmandu: External affairs minister Jaswant Singh and his Pakistani
counterpart Abdul Sattar shook hands and spoke to each other before a formal
meeting of the SAARC foreign ministers in Kathmandu.
Terrorism was on top of the agenda
at the SAARC foreign ministers' meeting.
The foreign ministers of the seven South Asian countries discussed ways to
enhance economic cooperation between the SAARC members.
Prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf
will be in Kathmandu for the meet on January 4.

Crude
production slips 1.9% in first 8 months
New Delhi: Domestic crude oil production slipped 1.9 per cent to 21.236
million tonne in the first eight months of the current financial year as
against 21.658 million tonne in April-November 2000-01.
Crude oil production, however, rose 0.6 per cent to 2.72 million tonne in
November 2001 as against 2.70 million tonne produced in the same month last
year, according to latest data released by ministry of petroleum & natural
gas.
