Chatterjee is new commerce secretary
New Delhi: In
A major bureaucratic reshuffle involving 19 top officials in the key
economic ministries, Mr Dipak Chatterjee has been shifted from mines
to commerce as secretary.
Planning Commission advisor
SS Boparai has been appointed as secretary in the Plan panel in place
of Ajit Kumar who retires on 31 January. Chatterjee replaces Prabir
Sengupta who also retires on the same day.
Tariff Commission chairman AK
Kundra will take over as the mines secretary in place of Chatterjee.
Additional secretary in the revenue department GC Srivastava has been
promoted to take charge from Kundra.
Special secretary in charge
of Wrold Trade Organisation Nripendra Misra has been appointed as
fertiliser secretary in place of Ashok Pahwa, who is superannuating on
31 January.
National Productivity Council
director-general AK Goswami has been appointed as secretary in the
department of drinking water supply. Inland Waterways Authority of
India chairman BN Jha will succeed Goswami.
Special secretary, Central
Relief Commissioner in the farm ministry, Ashok Pradhan will have dual
charge of secretary in the small scale industries ministry as also
agro and rural industries ministry. He replaces Vishwanath Anand, who
also retires on 31 January.
Rajiv Srivastava has been
appointed chairman of the Inland Waterways Authority in place of BN
Jha. Krishna Bhatnagar has been appointed as adviser in the Planning
Commission in place of Boparai. PK Mohanty has also been appointed as
adviser in the Plan panel in the rank of secretary. Binoo Sen, at
present posted in Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed as special
secretary and the Central Relief Commissioner in the place of Pradhan.
