Sinha may be shifted to MTNL
New Delhi: VSNLs director (finance) RSP Sinha is likely to be appointed as director (finance) of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL). S Sundresan, the current director (finance), MTNL, is slated to retire on 31 March.

Sinha is likely to be chosen for the job because he understands the intricacies of the divestment process and this experience would help MTNL, which is slated for divestment soon. Sinha was VSNL's director during its divestment.

Gurbaxani is TransWorks CEO
Bangalore: Prakash Gurbaxani, founder CEO of the Bangalore-headquartered 24/7 Customer.com, has joined TransWorks, a leading call centre and business process outsourcing (BPO) company, as its CEO.

Gurbaxani was responsible for scaling 24/7 to a 400-seat strong entity.

Top on Gurbaxanis agenda is to set up a 500-seat TransWorks facility in Bangalore with an investment up to $5 million.

Gurbaxani will focus on streamlining the delivery side of TransWorks' business, continue to focus on the existing customers and increase its visibility. The Chrysalis-funded TransWorks has over a dozen customers in the areas of financial services, computing, ISPs and telecom service providers.

TransWorks, founded in 1999 by two IIT-Mumbai and MIT alumni Rizwan Koyta and Jagdeesh Moorjani, has a 350-seat call centre in Mumbai and a marketing office in Sunnyvale in California.

Infosys, Wipro & TCS chiefs on Media Labs board
New Delhi: Infosys Technologies chairman N R Narayanamurthy, Wipro chairman Azim Premji and TCS deputy chairman F C Kohli have all joined Media Lab Asias board of directors.

MLA has also roped in Dr Ranjit Makkuni of the Xerox PARCs Crossings Lab and Dr Ramesh Jain, former head of the University of Michigans Artificial Intelligence Lab, to collaborate research activities.

The MLA board was set up in September with minister for information technology Pramod Mahajan as chairman and US MIT Media Lab chairman Nicholas Negroponte as the vice-chairman.
