BSE to suspend trading in 78 scrips
Mumbai: Bombay Stock Exchange will suspend the trading in securities of 78 companies, including Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren and Usha Iron and Ferro Metals from 18 February for non-payment of listing fees for the financial year 2001-02.

Of the 78 companies, trading in the scrips of 20 companies, including Cyberspace Infosys was already suspended for non-compliance with various provisions of the listing agreement.

The other scrips in which trading would be suspended include Apple Credit Corporation, Jaman Auto Moschip Semiconductor Technology.

Sebi charges KP entities with takeover violation
New Delhi: Sebi has charged 11 entities of Ketan Parekh with violating takeover code involving scrips such as Global Trust Bank and Shonkh Technologies.

In its third interim report on the stockmarket scam, Sebi said entities associated with Ketan Prekh appeared prima-facie to have violated takeover regulations in the scrips of GTB, Aftek Infosys and Shonkh Technologies.

"Investigations have revealed that Ketan Parekh entities acquired shares of Shonkh in excess of 15 per cent and/or 5 per cent of the company entities in February 2001 without complying with the Sebi's takeover regulations and without making disclosures to the company and public offer," the report said.

The 11 entities include Classic Credit, Panther Investrade, Panther Fincap & Management Services, Luminant Investment, Triumph Securities, Triumph International Finance India, NH Securities, Chitrakut Computers, Goldfish Computers, Nakshatra Software and Saimangal Investrade.
