K Roy Paul is Civil Aviation Secretary
New Delhi: The government has decided to appoint K Roy Paul, a 1967 batch IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, as the civil aviation secretary. He will take over on 1 March.
The current Civil Aviation Secretary A H Jung is slated to retire on 28 February.

Going by the current practice, Paul is also likely to be made the chairman of Air-India.

Mohan Gurunath is Dabhol Power MD
Mumbai: Dabhol Power has appointed its chief financial officer Mohan Gurunath as the managing director. He takes over from K Wade Cline, the chief executive of the troubled company.

Cline would conclude his tenure as DPC chief executive and head back to Enron, Houston. The former chief would continue to be a director on the company's board.

Cline is reverting to a responsible role with Enron Corp's legal function, which is where he served prior to moving to India in October 1999.

He had taken over the reins from Sanjay Bhatnagar in January 2001.

G.N. Bajpai to head Sebi
New Delhi: The government is set to approve the appointment of  LIC chairman G.N. Bajpai as the new chief of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

Bajpais appointment is expected to be approved by the appointments committee of the cabinet shortly. He will have a tenure of three years.
