Andersen
CEO resigns
Washington:
Joseph Berardino, the chief executive officer of Arthur Andersen
accountancy firm, has resigned.
Berardino said he was leaving Andersen, which has been indicted by the
US justice department for obstruction of justice in the Enron case, in
order to try and save the company from going under.

6 new
directors for ISE named
Mumbai: The
Sebi has appointed six public representative directors on the board of
Inter-connected Stock Exchange of India for the year 2001-02.
The two new directors on the board are PV Narasimham, former chairman
and managing director of IFCI Ltd and Vimala Visvanathan, former
executive director of Reserve Bank of India.
Current chairman MR Mayya, Justice AD Tated, chartered accountant Ajay
Thakkar and IIT Mumbai professor LM Bhole have also been reappointed
on the board.
