Kundra to head HZL
New Delhi: The government is likely to appoint mines secretary A K Kundra as the new chairman of Hindustan Zinc.

The move follows successful bid by Sterlite Industries for 26 per cent stake in the zinc major along with management control for Rs 445 crore last month after which government would have 49 per cent equity in the PSU.

Government would have the right to nominate five of the directors including chairman while Sterlite Industries would appoint six including managing director.

Nikhil Sen is new COO at Britannia
Mumbai: Britannia Industries has elevated Nikhil Sen to the position of chief operating officer (COO).

Sen was so long the senior vice-president in charge of the companys mainline bakery business.

Sen, who joined the company as a management trainee in 1980, has been heading the bakery business since 1997.

Dr Prakash joins Amareswara
Hyderabad: Dr Channapatna S. Prakash, professor of plant molecular genetics at Tuskegee University of Alabama, has joined the board of the Hyderabad-based Amareswara Agri-tech Ltd. Dr Prakash serves on the USDA's agricultural biotechnology advisory committee and also on the advisory committee of the department of biotechnology in India.
