Roy Paul appointed A-I chairman
Mumbai: K Roy
Paul, secretary of civil aviation, has been appointed part time
chairman of Air-India in place of A H Jung.
The appointment was with immediate effect and until further orders,
according to a government notification.
Roy Paul from Bihar cadre had assumed charge as civil aviation
secretary in March last.

Hyundai India MD to be replaced
New Delhi: The
chief of South Korea's Hyundai Motor's Indian operations Yang Soo Kim
would be replaced next week by J I Kim, head of European operations of
Kia Motors, a Hyundai group company.
Kim, who joined Hyundai India in 1996, was responsible for setting up
the company and its success in the domestic automobile market.
The company had reported growth in profits and turnover for the third
consecutive financial year in 2001-02 since it commenced commercial
production in September 1998.
Kim would move to US as head of operations there.

Deveshwar
is IIM-C chief
Kolkata: Y.C.
Deveshwar, chairman, ITC, has been nominated chairman of the board of
governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, for a
five-year period.
An IIM-C release said that
the mood at the institute was upbeat at this development. Dr Amitava
Bose, director, IIM-C, said that everyone was looking forward to an
exciting period of growth under Deveshwar's stewardship.

Star India names Sameer Nair COO
Mumbai: Star
India has appointed Sameer Nair as its chief operating officer. Prior
to his elevation, Nair was the executive vice president-programming at
Star India, and was responsible for programming of all the Star
channels in India.
Nair will continue to report
to Peter Mukherjea, the chief executive officer. Nair has been with
Star India for the last 8 years and ever since has moved up the ladder
steadily.
He is one of the main persons
behind the much talked about game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati".
Nair began his career with
the Star Network at Star Movies when it was first launched in
India.
