London-Mumbai AI flight via Delhi from May

New Delhi: Air India is scheduled to introduce a weekly service to London from Mumbai via Delhi from 3 May.

The airline's London terminator flight was launched in July last year, but had to be withdrawn after the 11 September incidents in the US.

Mumbai port plans container terminal
Mumbai: Mumbai port is planning to set up an off the coast container terminal at a cost of Rs 900 crore.

Global port and shipping players such as Klang Port of Malaysia, Hutchison Port and Evergreen have shown interest in the project.

P&O Ports, which runs the Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal at JNPT, had also made enquiries about the project.

Mumbai port is also developing the Ballard Pier terminal. P&O Ports, Sea Consortium and Shahi Shipping have been shortlisted for privatisation of Ballard Pier terminal.

Nasscom calls to tap Chinese market
New Delhi: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has asked software companies to look for opportunities in the rapidly growing Chinese market.

Seeking to ally fears that China is rapidly emerging as a threat, Nasscom said there was no immediate threat since the Chinese IT industry was now focussed on domestic market rather than on software exports. The association, which conducted a detailed study on the Chinese IT market, urged Indian companies to tap the huge market of China, estimated to be around $ 30 billion by 2003.
