Vidya Chhabria takes over as head of Jumbo Group
Mumbai: Vidya Manohar Chhabria has taken over the reins of the $2-billion Jumbo group empire, set up by her late husband Manohar Rajaram Chhabria.

The board of directors of Jumbo group companies in India met in Mumbai on 22 April and formally nominated Ms Chhabria as director and chairperson of all Jumbo group companies.

In her maiden address to senior executives of group companies, 
Ms Chhabria emphasised that there will be no change in the business vision, policies and priorities of the group.

R Jayakumar joins Fitch as director
Mumbai: R Jayakumar, senior vice-president and head of investment banking with DSP Merrill Lynch, has joined Fitch Ratings India as its director.

He would be responsible for the ratings business with a focus on banks, financial institutions, financial services companies, corporates and public sector undertakings, Fitch said in a release.

Krishnan to take over as Balco MD
Korba: CV Krishnan of the Sterlite group will take over as the next managing director of Bharat Aluminium Company (Balco) from the current MD SC Krishnan.

S C Krishnan had announced that his request for retirement has been accepted by the management.

SC Krishnan would be made the consultant of Balco.

Venkataramana new Nalco CMD
Bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company director (Finance) 
C Venkataramana has taken over as the chairman and managing director of the company.

Venkataramana assumed the charge after Nalco acting CMD and additional secretary, ministry of mines, S C Tripathy, moved to the ministry of human resources and development as secretary.
