Nilekani to head power, IT sector panel
New Delhi:  Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani will head the task force to develop synergy between the information technology (IT) and the Indian power sectors.

The power ministry with the help of the National Association of Software Services Companies (Nasscom), intends to reduce losses of about Rs 25,000 in distribution alone, with incremental usage of IT applications.

Four areas within the power sector have been identified where there can be maximum deployment of IT applications. These areas are online collection of bills, customer grievance management and new customer management and billing.
