Doraisamy
to head HP-Compaq in India
New Delhi:
Balu Doraisamy, the present
managing director of Compaq in India, has been named as the president
of the new HP-Compaq merged entity.
HP is yet to
decide on the future role of its existing president, Arun Thiagarajan.
"The
appointment demonstrates the progress of our merger integration
planning process and is further proof that we are on track with the
launch phase of the merger plan," Hewlett Packard said in a
statement.
The combined
entity of Hewlett Packard India (HP India) and Compaq Computer India
had revenues of Rs. 3301 crore for 2000-01.
Doraisamy , 45,
is the managing director for Compaq Computer India Pvt Ltd since June
1999.
Prior to this
assignment, Doraisamy was based at Singapore for nine years and before
that, for nine years in the US.
Doraisamy joined
Digital Equipment Corporation, US, in 1982 as senior consultant based
at Nashua.
A post graduate
in computer science and masters in mathematics, he was responsible for
developing global accounts business for Digital and then Compaq in
several Asia Pacific countries, including Australia, China, India,
Japan and Asean Countries.

Kudva
appointed Crisil ED
Mumbai:
Roopa Kudva has been
appointed as an executive director on the board of Crisil. She would
be designated executive officer and chief rating officer, said a news
release from the company.
Kudva has been
with Crisil since 1992, taking charge of the company's rating business
a couple of years ago, said the release.
