terminating most of the downtrend counters in the tradable list. Bears
were unable to make any recovery during the day's trading.

Loyd buoyant on merged strength
Mumbai: The
stock of the Chennai-based Aban Loyd Chiles Offshore has been rising
more or less steadily since early March and in the last four months,
it has moved up by over 150 per cent. On Thursday, it closed with an
intra-day gain of around 10 per cent.

After staging a decline for the last three trading days, the Bombay
Stock Exchange Sensex reversed course on Thursday, appreciating by
36.26 points (or 1.14 per cent) to close for the day at 3217.15
points.

Industries assurance to court
Mumbai: Sterlite
Industries (India) Ltd has told the Bombay High Court that it will not
cancel for three months the shares of those who are yet to send the
option form. The counsel for Sterlite, Mr Iqbal Chagla, made the
proposal on the third day of the case.
