Sundaram Mutual's combined asset plan takes new avatar
Kolkata: Barely a month after its re-opening for fresh sales, Sundaram Mutual Fund has decided to change tack with regard to its latest offer, Sundaram Select Debt. The `combined asset plan' of the latter is proposed to be renamed `dynamic asset plan' so as to render it more flexible for investors.

DSE directors
New Delhi: Eight directors were elected to the Delhi Stock Exchange (DSE) board at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the exchange here on Monday. Those elected are Mr T.C. Singhal, M.K. Gupta, M.L. Goel, N.C. Jain, Prakash Jus Roy, S.C. Shorewala, Vijay Bhusan and Vinay Kumar Gupta.

Two-wheeler stocks see selling pressure
Mumbai: Stocks of leading two-wheeler manufacturing companies came under heavy selling pressure today on account of less than expected sales growth for September 2002. The major loser list included the world largest motorcycle manufacturing company, Hero Honda.Its share price fell by 6.09 per cent to Rs 233.60 on the BSE with 2.19 lakh shares being traded. The Bajaj Auto stock fell 3.07 per cent at Rs 368.40 with 1.50 lakh shares and TVS Motor was down 7.74 per cent at Rs 377.60 with 27,958 shares being traded in the counter.

PM brings cheer to PSU scrips
Mumbai: The stocks of public sector companies rose on Thursday after the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, said the disinvestment process had not been "halted". Among the major gainers on Thursday were the disinvestment candidates HPCL, BPCL, NALCO, SCI and EIL.

Special margin on Kaashyap Radiant

Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has imposed a special margin of 50 per cent on Kaashyap Radiant Systems Ltd from Thursday. The special margin will be imposed on the basis of member-wise gross outstanding purchase or sale position.

Key index stocks slide; PSUs regain some sheen
Selling in key index stocks offset the gains posted in technology counters as the benchmark BSE Sensex ended the day at 2,938.06 points, down by 21.60 points compared to Tuesday's close. The Nifty too ended the day in negative territory, losing 7 points to close at 948.20 points.

Warrant sought to arrest DSQ promoter
Kolkata: The Kolkata police have for the first time said they have decided to seek arrest warrants for Dinesh Dalmia, promoter of the DSQ group of companies, in connection with the alleged siphoning out of funds from the Calcutta Stock Exchange.

Rupee stable; securities rise
Mumbai: The rupee remained almost unchanged on Thursday to close at 48.3550/3575 per dollar as against its previous close of 48.3550/36 in the forex market. The market was very lacklustre, with hardly any movement in the currency.
