Pension
regulator must, says Narayan
New Delhi: The government
seems to be veering round to the opinion that a separate
pension regulator was required. According to finance secretary
S Narayan, it was imperative for the country to have a
pension regulator in view of the many small provident
funds (PFs) being regulated disparately.

Ministry
wants SAD on DEPB imports removed

commerce ministry has urged the revenue department to
consider exempting the special additional duty on imports
under the duty entitlement passbook scheme, saying the
measure will defeat the basic objective of the scheme.

Cong harden stand; fresh move on to break impasse

hardened their stand on the chief ministership of a coalition
government in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, fresh efforts

Scrap
all 10-yr-old rail projects which remain on paper
New Delhi: The Prime
Ministers Office is understood to have favoured
scrapping of all the railway projects that were approved
over 10 years ago but work on which has been delayed for
one reason or the other.
