Syngenta to make open offer
Mumbai: Swiss firm Syngenta South Asia is to make an open offer to acquire 49.01 per cent of the paid-up capital of Syngenta India at Rs 130 per share. The company may also consider delisting Syngenta India's shares from stock exchanges.

UTI index plan opens today
Mumbai: The Index Linked Plan (ILP) of the Unit Trust of India under its Variable Investment Scheme will open for subscription from 7 November. An open-ended scheme with a pre-defined allocation of equity and debt, ILP will be linked to the BSE index.

Rupee steady; bonds rally
Mumbai: The rupee closed almost unchanged at 48.33/3350 on Wednesday against the dollar as compared to previous close of 48.32/33 in the forex market. The supplies of the dollar were seen to be good, with some stray demand observed.
