Dell launches three new systems
Chennai: Dell has introduced Dell Precision 650 and 450 workstations that incorporate Intel's new chipset for Intel dual Xeon processor technology.

Along with the recently launched Dell Precision 350, (with support for single processor Intel Pentium 4) these products offer customers a new generation of high-performance desktop workstations.

Emami to revive Boroplus brand
Kolkata: Emami is reviving‘Boroplus’ one of its mainline brands. The company has relaunched this product, which happens to be the largest-selling antiseptic cream brand in the country.
The Rs 80-crore Boroplus brand commands a 55 per cent national market share in the antiseptic cream market (as per ORG-Marg). One of the largest brands of Emami, it constitutes almost 40 per cent of the total cosmetics sale of the company.

Pfizer India sells Protinex to Danish co
Mumbai: Pfizer India Ltd has sold its protein supplement brand, Protinex to EAC Trading Private Ltd, Indian subsidiary of Denmark-based EAC Nutrition, for a consideration of about Rs 35 crore. The sales of Protinex follows the parent company, Pfizer Ltd's decision to sell the brand.

SEBI to take action against Ranabaxy
New Delhi: Sebi has decided to initiate action against promoter entities of Ranbaxy for not informing Sebi of their acquisition of 7.01 equity of the company during January and October 1999.

While recommending adjudication proceeding under Regulation 15A (a) of SEBI Act, Sebi said that promoters were required to inform the regulatory body under Regulations 3 (4) of SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 1997. SEBI has disclosed these details in its final report to the JPC.

NIIT bags $10-m UK order
New Delhi: NIIT' s remote business process management services subsidiary, NIIT SmartServe, has bagged a $10-m order from the UK-headquartered Misys Independent Financial Advisory Services Plc (MIFAS Plc).

Misys Plc is a major provider of software products for the international banking and healthcare industries. MIFAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Misys Plc, is a supplier of support and research services to Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) in the UK.

MRO-Tek Q2 net at Rs 1.5 crore
Bangalore: MRO-Tek Ltd, a networking and last mile access solutions provider, has reported a net profit of Rs 1.35 crore on a revenue of Rs 23.05 crore for the second quarter ended September 2002, as against a net of Rs 5.79 lakh on a turnover of Rs 17.86 crore in corresponding period last year.
For the first half, net profits of the company stood at Rs 2.54 crore on a turnover of Rs 39.81 crore as against a net of Rs 85 lakh on a turnover Rs 30.63 crore in corresponding period previous year.

Milton to re-launch home range
Kolkata: Milton Global will soon be relaunching its non-thermoware household products. The move to relaunch the non-thermoware range of products, discontinued for the last 25 years, is being done to hedge the seasonality of the business.

The company has already begun test-marketing products like containers and buckets in the western market. Plans are under way to set up a new manufacturing base in Guwahati to manufacture both the non-thermoware and the thermoware range of products.
