EOU body for restoration of income tax exemptions
New Delhi: In its recent submissions to director-general of foreign trade for framing the 2003-04 export and import policy, a delegation of the Confederation of 100 per cent Export-oriented Units led by its president R Veermani has made a strong plea to the government for restoring the tax exemption available to the units under Sections 10A & 10B of the Income-Tax Act and for allowing it to be phased out as planned earlier.

EU wins cotton trade case against India
New Delhi: The European Union has won the cotton bed linen export case against India, it said on Friday. The European Commission, which runs trade affairs for EU, said the WTO had decided in its favour in a dispute with India over how the 15-nation bloc was fulfilling earlier rulings in the case.
